Street Photography with Sol
A Photo Project by Mike Wade
Street photography has been a major interest of mine for the past 6 years and like most people I have struggled with building up the courage to just take the shot. The fear of photographing strangers can be quite overwhelming (at least for me; I’m told it gets better with practice).
For Christmas (2018), my wife picked up a couple of the Eric Kim’s photo journals as stocking stuffers (along with the Henri wrist strap) from Eric’s shop and a Lensbaby Sol45 (XF mount for my Fuji Xpro2). Browsing the pages has inspired me to try and confront my fears of photographing strangers and grow to become a better street photographer.
For the next year (or however long it takes me to complete), I will be working from the “Street Hunt” book, exclusively using the Lensbaby Sol45 lens and deliberately setting out to accomplish each photo assignment (there are 11 in total; hopefully that equates to 1 per month).
So here we go….
